What It’s Like to Work With Me
Share
Working with me is collaborative, relaxed, and focused on the result you actually need. Before I pick up a camera, I take the time to understand your goals, your story, and the feeling you want your images to convey. That shared understanding is what makes the final photographs feel authentic—true to you, your brand, and your audience.
A calm start: listening first
Every project begins with a short conversation. We’ll cover the essentials—what success looks like, where the images will live, who needs to see them, and any must-have shots. I’ll ask a few practical questions about timings, locations, brand guidelines, and usage. It’s not a questionnaire for the sake of it; it’s simply the quickest way to align on the brief so we can concentrate on making great pictures.
On location or in the studio
Whether we’re in a busy workplace, out on a windswept touchline, or in a quiet studio, my aim is to create a comfortable environment where ideas can flow naturally. Small touches - clear direction when it’s helpful, stepping back when it’s not, keeping the kit tidy and the plan simple - make a big difference to how people feel in front of the lens. If you’re not used to being photographed, that’s fine. I’ll guide you through posture, light and angles without making it feel forced.
Collaboration without fuss
Good images are a team effort. I’m happy to work to a shot list, improvise as we go, or a bit of both. If inspiration strikes mid-shoot, we’ll explore it. If time is tight, we’ll prioritise and keep the pace up. For commercial and product work, we’ll review test frames on screen so you can give quick feedback and we can refine on the spot. For portraits, I’ll show you a few selects as we go to make sure we’re heading in the right direction.
Clear, professional delivery
After the shoot, you’ll receive a curated set of proofs to review, followed by a final edit in both web-ready and print-ready formats. Turnaround is agreed up front—rush options are available when needed. Every image is supplied with straightforward usage rights matched to your brief, and extension options are simple if your needs change.
